Downlands
operates it's own "First Awards" Scheme,
designed to introduce newcomers to the very
basic skills needed for skating. The
scheme is intended for novice skaters prior to
undertaking the official FARS Basic Skills
programme.
This scheme
is based on a training programme
originated by Joan Preston of
Alumwell Rollers
